October 14, 2026

HONOLULU — Michael Golojuch Jr. has been named one of the grand marshals of the 2026 Honolulu Pride Parade, in recognition of his more than two decades of leadership and advocacy that have shaped LGBTQIA+ rights, labor equity and community well‑being across Hawaiʻi.

His selection reflects his long record of work in Hawaiʻi’s Pride movement, including helping advance major civil rights milestones and strengthening visibility and representation for māhū, LGBTQIA+ and MVPFAFF+ communities.

Golojuch served as chair of Honolulu Pride from 2008 to 2015 and currently leads Pride at Work – Hawaiʻi, where he advocates for LGBTQIA+ workers and connects equality efforts with labor and economic justice. He has served on the Hawaiʻi State LGBTQ+ Commission since 2024 and was elected chair earlier this year.

Outside of Pride-related work, Golojuch has contributed to statewide organizations and community initiatives focused on labor, public health and civic engagement. His service has been recognized with multiple community awards, including the 2026 Visionary Legacy Award from the Hawaiʻi LGBT Legacy Foundation.

“Being named a grand marshal of the Honolulu Pride Parade is an incredible honor, but I see it as a recognition of the countless people who have fought alongside me for equality, dignity and justice,” said Golojuch. “Pride has never been just a parade. It is a celebration of how far we have come, a remembrance of those who fought before us and a call to continue fighting for those who are still waiting to be seen, heard and protected. I am proud to have spent my life in this movement and I am even more proud of the work we continue to do together.”
